Blake Spiering - Head Coach

Blake Spiering returns for his eighth year as the Head Coach of the Monterey Peninsula College Men's Basketball Team and is entering his 17th year coaching at the collegiate level.
Coach Blake has transferred 45 student athletes to four-year institutions and over 50% have transferred to Division I programs.
Coach Blake graduated from St. Bernard High School in Eureka, CA where he was voted M.V.P. by his peers on his basketball team that finished the season ranked 2nd in California. After high school, Coach Blake went on to get his A.A. from Cuesta Community College in San Luis Obispo, Ca. There he was a two year starter and earned All-Conference his sophomore season and earned the “Mr. Defense” award his sophomore year. Next he went on to Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, California where he finished his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Management. At NDNU, he also started for two years and was an All-Conference player and earned the “Mr. Defense” award both seasons at NDNU.
After graduation, Coach Blake was hired on as assistant coach at NDNU. Coach Blake spent one year at NDNU, then went to Sonoma State University where he spent four years as the head assistant coach. From there, Coach Blake was hired at San Jose City College and spent four years as the head assitant coach.
Coach Blake earned his Masters degree in Health, Physical Education, & Recreation at St. Mary’s College in Moraga, CA.
Coach Blake has a yellow lab named Blue.

Assistant Coach Brett Spiering
Brett Spiering is returning for his third year at Monterey Peninsula College. Coach Brett is starting his eighth season as a coach at the collegiate and/or high school levels. His prior college coaching experience was at Santa Rosa Junior College where he was an assistant coach and more recently at St. Bernard's High School where he has been coaching for three seasons. Coach Brett's experience also extends to basketball summer camps in which he has been involved for 11 years. Camp experiences include Lavin Camps, Basketball Jones Camps, Sonoma State Camps, Santa Rosa Jr. College Camps, St. Bernard's High School Camps and Monterey Peninsula College Camps. Coach Brett loves working with programs for the development of youth. He is excited about the upcoming season and looks forward to the development of players.

 Assistant Coach Daniel Eoff
Daniel Eoff, known by the players as "Coach D" , graduated from high school in Lemoore, California. Born and raised in Seaside, he moved to Lemoore in the middle of his sophomore year. Immediately embraced by his coach, he became team captain and a leader on and off the court. In his senior year he received both the "Coach's Award" and "Captain's Award". After high school, Daniel returned to the Monterey Peninsula. He enrolled at Monterey Peninsula College and began his college career under Coach Blake Spiering. After two years and receiving his Associate's Degree, he transferred to Simpson University (NAIA) where his presence was needed immediately as he became a starter, captain, leader in minutes and was among the team leaders in every statistical category. He led his team to the Cal Pac Conference Championship game in 2007-08.
After graduating and receiving his Bachelor's in Business Administration, Daniel was asked by Simpson University to assist with the men's basketball team. After one year of coaching at Simpson he returned to the Monterey Peninsula where he was given the opportunity to become an assistant coach at MPC.
