Theater- English spelling that generally means the theater building itself, or the cinema or film.
Theatron- Greek for "seeing place."
Greek marathon games (Sports Activities) and Greek theatre originated at the same time and used the same terms: Play, Playing, Block, Blocking, Arena, Practice.

Theatre (Robert Cohen’s definition) means 'An artistic work of a scripted play done in live performance with impersonation by actors.'These are the four necessary elements for theatre:
Theatre: "The willful suspension of disbelief." (A Quote from S.T. Coleridge). This is the most common definition of theatre.
Stage directions: Stage left, Stage right, upstage, downstage, house, strike, and "Break-a-leg."
Film, movies and TV originated live but are viewed as recordings to a live audience. There is a big difference in the personnel involved in live, "on-stage" theatre and recorded theatre (film, movies and TV).
