Drama Appreciation \ Drama 1

Text : Theatre by Robert Cohen, 5th edition

From the beginning of class to the midterm exam the chapters to be covered will be ..... Chapters 1, 2, 12, 13, 14, and 15.    From the midterm exam to the end of semester the chapters to be covered will be ..... Chapters 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, & 11.
Chapter 6,10, & 16 will be covered but not tested.
It is up to the student whether to take notes and to keep a notebook. Most tests will be taken directly from the notes. There will be 5 quizzes, each worth 20 points, and 2 exams, each worth a 100 points during the semester. All of the material for the test will be based on the text and class interviews. You will need to take your own notes on class interviews.

N.B.- Disclaimer: The notes on this website are NOT the complete information and agenda that is presented to the Drama 1 students in class. Missing in these notes are the following:

#1) In-class script reading of "West Side
	Story" with in class notes.
#2) Video on American Conservatory Theatre
	with in-class notes.
#3) Interview with a guest Director, Actors
	and Designers, with in-class notes.
#4) Four films, with in-class notes.

The essay parts of the mid-term and final exams require in-class note taking and participation.
So memorization of these computer notes is by no means the entirety of the lectures done in class.
