M.St. Women's Studies, Oxford University, Oxford, England

M.A. United States History, Boise State University, Boise, Idaho

B.S. Sociology with a minor in Gender Studies, Boise State University, Boise, Idaho

Sarah Mawhirter is the Director of Women's Programs at MPC, which consists of the Re-Entry and Multicultural Center and the Women's Studies Department. 
The Re-Entry and Multicultural Center is located on the second floor of the Social Sciences building and is a student service lounge.  The Center provides a textbook loan program, an emergency food pantry, free mental health counseling and a financial support program for female students in crisis.  In addition, the Center always has free coffee and moral support! 
Women's Studies offers a variety of cross-listed, transferable courses such as:  Women in United States Politics, The Psychology of Women, Women in United States History, Images:  Women in the Arts, Introduction to Women's Studies and Feminist Theory.  Sarah teaches "Women in United States History", "Women in United States Politics" and "Feminist Theory" and her scholarly interests include social justice movements, feminism, systems of oppression and privilege and social theory. 
When Sarah is not at MPC, she enjoys spending time with her partner and their daughter, running, reading, and traveling.
