I have worked at the Monterey Peninsula College Library since Fall, 2000. Prior to that, I worked in several libraries throughout Northern California then spent ten crazy years working for a software company in Monterey, helping libraries integrate new technology.

The librarians at MPC work at the Reference Desk in the Library Technology Center, act as faculty liaisons for academic departments (which includes developing and maintaining the library's collection in our subject areas) and serve on College and professional committees. We also teach classes and attend conferences and workshops for ongoing training.

As the Electronic Resources & Instruction Librarian, I oversee the automated system including the online catalog, electronic reserves, e-books and the many resources available to the MPC community. I developed  Internet Literacy (LIBR 80), a 3-unit online course that satisfies both MPC's Information Competency graduation requirement and CSU Monterey Bay's Information Technology ULR (University Learning Requirement).

I am currently on the Academic Senate, where I serve as Secretary. I am currently a faculty representative to the MPC Technology Committee, the Institutional Research Advisory Group, and the Administrative Services Advisory Group (ASAG). I am active in the Monterery Bay Area Cooperative Library System's Technology Committee, MPCTA, the local HELP consortium's group of instruction librarians, and represent MPC on the Literacy Campaign for Monterey County.
