Why should you develop your note-taking skills? One important reason is that students who take better notes get higher grades. Research has shown a clear relationship between the ability to take notes and success on tests. Most students will find that they need to develop two different types of note-taking skills: recording the most important points in a lecture, and annotating key ideas from a text.
