The Sustainable Hospitality Management program at MPC prepares students for transfer to CSUMB for advanced study. This program is designed to provide students with a foundation of knowledge to help them become successful leaders within the hospitality industry.

What is Sustainable Hospitality Management?

This hands-on major provides students with a foundation in hospitality, sustainability, leadership & operations. Sustainable Hospitality Management (SHM) concentrates on local, regional and global sustainability issues within the hospitality industry. At its central core it focuses on the concept of going beyond sustainability to address issues in terms of people, ethics, equity, planet and profit. Students eager to pursue careers in hospitality can focus on "green" jobs in sustainable hotel, resort and event management or sustainable ecotourism.

Why are Sustainable Hospitality Management Careers in demand?

Properly implemented and maintained sustainability measures have the double benefit of saving hospitality industry money and benefiting the environment.

What can "Green" hospitality jobs pay?
