Monterey, CA – November, 2009 – Come treat yourself to a unique experience as 25 talented metal art students present their work from December 1st to December 3rd, 2009 at Monterey Peninsula College (MPC). High quality, handcrafted jewelry and original art will be for sale during this 3 day fundraiser at the college cafeteria. Sale hours are from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm.
The Annual Holiday Jewelry Sale showcases pieces created with techniques taught through the Metal Arts Department. Student artists have completed a minimum of three semesters in classes ranging from casting, soldering and forging to enameling and stone setting. Submitted work is juried to insure quality.
The MPC Metal Arts program boasts one of the best-equipped community college studios in the country. The combination of first class instructors and internationally renowned guest artists make this program a leader in the metal arts field. Many of the students become very successful jewelry designers, yet still return for workshops offered by the program.
Proceeds from the sale are used to support the MPC Metal Arts Studio through the purchase of tools and equipment, while giving student artists the opportunity to experience the retail side of the art world.
The jewelry sale is held in conjunction with the Ceramic Mud People and Print Club sales..
Admission is free. Follow signs on campus. Parking is $1.00, quarters only.
