CSIS 198 Security Training

 
MPC TO OFFER FIRST EVER IN-CLASS SECURITY+ COURSE SHORT 8 WEEK SUMMER CERTIFICATION PREPARATION TRAINING A comprehensive lecture and lab training in one of the fastest growing and much in demand Security field is being offered this summer by Monterey Peninsula College (MPC) Computer Science Department. The training will prepare students to undertake the Security+ Certification Exam which was ranked #3 of Hot-Certified-IT-Skills by eweek.com. Local jobs at Defense Manpower Data Center require employees and contractors to be Security+ certified as mandated by Government’s DODD 8570.01 certification directive. For the first time MPC will offer an in-class session that will allow students to directly interact with the instructor as they learn and master the skills of the 21st century. The CSIS 198 Summer section8416 has been conveniently scheduled on Saturday from 8am to 5pm with breaks to allow working students to take advantage of this opportunity. At the first class, students are required to have the textbook, CompTIA Security+ Study Guide, Fourth Edition by Emmett Dulaney, Publisher Wiley, ISBN#978-0-470-37297-5 and the software LAB SIM for Security+ Third Edition, From Test Out. ISBN# 1-4283-4068-8 Registration is in-person at the Admissions and Records Office in the Student Services Building. Registration hours are 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM Monday through Thursday and 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM on Friday. These classes fill quickly; it is advisable to register as soon as possible.
