There are many reasons students take classes at MPC – for personal enrichment, to develop job skills, in support of a new occupation, or to transfer on to a four-year university.
Whatever your reason for taking classes, MPC is a pathway toward your goal.
To take a class at MPC, there are many important steps to consider. Depending on your goal, and what class you take, you may have to complete all or some of the steps listed below:
1) Complete an application for admission – what is your goal at MPC?
2) Consider your need for financial aid – will you need help paying for your classes? Student Financial Services can assist you.
3) Take Assessments if you plan to take an English, math, or English as a Second Language Class (or a class that has any of these as prerequisites.)
4) Complete an Orientation – either on line or in person – to ensure you understand College policies and procedures
5) See a Counselor to help you plan your schedule if you are enrolling in a degree or certificate program. Counselors are also available to answer questions, help with goal clarification, and/or assist you in creating a plan to meet your goal.
6) Register for classes – all students are responsible for their own registration.
