Welcome to Monterey Peninsula College and to the Office of Academic Affairs.
 

John Gonzalez 
Vice President for Academic Affairs

The College offers over 90 academic programs, ranging from Art History and Automotive Technology to Restaurant Management and Women’s Studies.  Students can prepare for transfer to a four-year college or university, complete a two-year degree leading to a career, or take a short course to upgrade skills.  The Office of Academic Affairs is responsible for the quality of the College’s academic programs.

John Gonzalez
Vice President for Academic Affairs

Dr. John Gonzalez received his doctorate in Educational Leadership from UCLA.  He began his teaching career at Los Angeles High School, where he taught ESL and Spanish from 1973 to 1988.  From 1988 until 2007, he worked at Santa Monica College in a variety of roles ranging from academic counselor to Dean of Matriculation to Dean of Academic Affairs.  In 2000-2001, he was an American Council of Education Leadership Fellow. Dr. Gonzalez has been MPC’s Vice President of Academic Affairs since 2007.
