Students who would like assistance with writing, research, and study skills are encouraged to come to the English & Study Skills Center.

The English & Study Skills Center offers individualized instruction and services to assist students in developing the skills they need to succeed in college-level courses.

Students may enroll in ESSC course labs on a pass or no pass basis. Please see below for course descriptions.

The English & Study Skills Center, located in room MA103 at the MPC Education Center at Marina, is open the following days and hours for the Fall 2011 semester (August 22 – December 9):

8 am-12:30 pm • Wednesday

3 pm-5:00 pm • Thursday

Closed Friday, Saturday, Sunday and holidays

Instruction in using a basic word processing program to write and revise college work. Basics of using word processing to assist with research strategies. P/NP

For students who want to improve their written composition or study skills. Students meet regularly with an instructor while working on an individual­ized program of study. May be taken for a maximum of three units. P/NP

ENGL 400                 INDIVIDUALIZED ENGLISH AND STUDY SKILLS

Condition of enrollment: Must be age 14 or older.

For students who want to improve their written composition or study skills. Students meet regularly with an instructor while working on an individualized program of study. Adult-level materials and instruction are provided; course is not appropriate for children. NC
