About the Computer Science and Information Systems Department

The Computer Science and Information Systems department offers comprehensive programs leading to transfer, vocational and job training in a number of areas. Degrees and certificates are offered in Computer Science and Information Systems, Computer Software Applications and Computer Networking. See the catalog for details.

The curriculum places emphasis on the general principles, concepts, skills and competencies required for future education and work in this field.

Computer Labs

The CSIS Department has 2 computer labs, in BMC205 and BMC207. All MPC students are welcome. There are 50 high quality computers with up-to-date software and a technician to assist you. Lab hours are Monday through Thursday 8:30am - 10pm and Friday 8:30am - 2pm. The daytime technician is Steve Bruemmer. The nighttime technician is Gustavo Carvalho. Our office is BMC205. If you have questions about using the lab, please ask us.

The labs are also used as classrooms. If a class is in progress but space is available, please feel free to sit in the back row and work quietly.
