About the Defense Language Institute

In February 1994, the Defense Language Institute and Monterey Peninsula College entered into a partnership which allows DLI students to earn an Associate in Arts in Foreign Language from MPC and DLI.

This program requires that students be enrolled in or be a graduate of the language studies program at DLI.

Monterey Peninsula College has developed courses that are of special interest to DLI students when they are enrolled at the DLI in Monterey. Distance education courses are available so that students may complete their MPC residency units after they no longer reside in the Monterey area.
