The Gentrain (General Education Train of  Courses) Program has been at Monterey Peninsula College since 1974. It is an interdisciplinary course in culture and civilization.   There are 16 units progressing through time from the ancient world to the present.  A new unit begins each month and students needing a late start course can be accomodated.  Classes meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. It can be taken for credit or non-credit. The instructional team is made up of four faculty members each from the following specialties:  literature/drama, philosophy/religion, history and art.
