EB License – Basic Area Technician License
This license allows an individual to inspect, diagnose, adjust, repair and certify the emissions control systems on vehicles subject to the Basic Area Smog Check Program in attainment areas. Basic Areas are defined by air quality that is cleaner than the state average (Monterey Country is a Basic Area).
EA License – Advanced Emission Specialist Technician License
The license allows an individual to inspect, diagnose, adjust, repair and certify the emissions control systems on vehicles subject to all Smog Check program areas.
