About the Child Development Department

Classes for people who want to provide early care and education for young children, for parents, and for those who want to teach in kindergarten through twelth grade.

The Child Development Department offers coursework required by California State Licensing and the Department of Education for all levels of children’s center teachers and directors, and for family childcare providers. The Department participates in the Child Development Training Consortium and the California Mentor Project. Current specializations are Violence Intervention, Creative Processes and High/Scope.
