Amy Servi - Head Coach
|
Amy ReCouper-Servi joins the Lobos as a first year head coach. A Southern California native, Amy played her softball career at Colorado State University under the direction of Coaches Sandy Pearsall (University of Louisville) and Candi Letts (Utah State). Amy was an accomplished catcher for the Rams from 1991-1996 and was recognized conference wide and nationally for her efforts behind the plate. She was also invited to try out for the 1994 Olympic team.
During her time at Colorado State, Amy was one of the team members named in the landmark case (Roberts vs. Colorado State Board of Agriculture) where Colorado State University was tried in the U.S. Supreme Court for violating Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, 20 U.S.C. 1681-1688, and was ordered to reinstate the women's fast pitch softball team at Colorado State University with all of the incidental benefits of a varsity team. The team went on to appear in the World Series in 1997.
Amy obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science with a double minor in marketing and economics in 1996. She went on to obtain an M.B.A. in Finance from Webster University in 2005. In 2004, Amy co-founded a software consulting firm, Zeroedin Solutions, Inc. The company is recognized by Microsoft as a worldwide technology leader and has exposed Amy to business throughout North America and Europe.
Amy is excited about the opportunity to build a nationally recognized softball program at MPC. She has high expectations of herself as well as her coaching staff and her players. Amy will focus on building the offense, pitchers and catchers and overall program strategy.
Amy is married to Joe nad has a daughter Jenna who is already enjoying softball.

Mary Rose Villalpando -Assistant Coach
Mary Rose joined the Lobos as a first year assistant coach with Amy Servi this year.
Born and raised in Monterey, she graduated from Monterey High School, where she was a four-year letterman and a three sport athlete (volleyball, basketball, and softball).
Mary Rose went on to play for Sacramento City College. In the two years Mary Rose was there, she helped the Panthers to a Conference Championship (1999-2000). In 2000, Mary was selected for an exhibition team against the USA Olympic Team. She then transferred to CSU Sacramento where she went on to obtain a B.A. in Studio Art with an emphasis in painting and printmaking. During her time there, she played softball for CSU Sacramento as a starting third baseman.
Currently, Mary Rose works for an art publisher in Seaside, California and continues to show and sell her art. She has shown her art in many local galleries and is preparing to exhibit her new work in San Francisco.
Mary Rose loves being a part of the Lobos team and always brings a positive energy to practice and an indepth knowledge of the game. Her focus will be on building the defense and recruiting. Mary Rose works well with all the players and looks forward to a bright future with the softball team at Monterey Peninsula College. |
