Loss of Eligibility Reinstatement 
Financial Aid Reinstatement:
Students may reestablish financial aid eligibility after a Loss of Eligibility with Appeal status by applying for a financial aid appeal.
a. an injury to the student, or
b. illness to the student, or
c. the student is involve in a major injury accident, or
d. death of a member of the immediate family. (Immediate family includes only the mother, father, grandmother,
grandfather, or a grandchild of the student or of the spouse, spouse, domestic partner, son, son-in-law,
daughter, daughter-in-law, and brother or sister of the student or any relative living in the immediate household of
the student)
a. a statement as to why the student did not make SAP by an official third party documenting the student’s
special circumstances.
b. a plan on how the student is going to make progress in the future; and
c. a Student Education Plan completed with an MPC Academic Counselor.

A letter will be sent informing the student of the Appeal Committee’s decision.

The decision of the Appeal Committee and the approved Education Plan are final. No revisions to the Student’s Education Plan will be accepted.
Financial Aid Probation:

A student whose financial aid appeal has been approved will be placed on financial aid probation.

Reinstatement will be for one semester/session.

Students who are appealing the 150% Maximum Time Frame will be limited to a maximum of 2 additional semesters/sessions of financial aid. Only those required courses needed to complete one (1) certificate, degree, or transfer program as stated in the MPC College Catalog and/or an ASSIST for one school will be approved. (This will be a final decision.) No additional units will be approved.

Those students who did not meet the GPA, CGPA or 67% Pace Progression will be required to follow the prescribed Education Plan approved by the Appeal Committee to remain on financial aid.
Reinstatement after Loss of Eligibility without Appeal:
a. has met the conditions of the student’s appeal; and/or
b.completes one (1) semester/session without financial aid, complete the number of units at the status level in
which the student was enrolled when Loss of Eligibility with Appeal was approved, and now has a 2.0 or higher
GPA; or
c.is meeting the 67% requirement and has a documented Student Education Plan attached to the request
