        Financial Aid Probation

     A. Students who have been awarded financial aid will be placed on Financial Aid Probation, if the student:

  • fails to complete the units for which financial aid funds were received.
  • fails to earn a 2.0 grade point average (GPA) for courses attempted during the semester.
  • fails to maintain a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 2.0.
  • fails to maintain the MPC Satisfactory Progress Policy and is placed on academic/progress probation.
  • has a semester grade point average of at least 2.0, a cumulative grade point average below 2.0, and the student is making continued progress towards a cumulative grade point average of 2.0.

B. Students who have never received financial aid may be placed on probation if their previous semester/session or cumulative GPA is below a 2.0, or if the student completed 0 units the previous semester/session attended.

C. Final grades of all financial aid recipients will be reviewed at the end of each semester/session of college attendance at MPC.  This is done to determine if students are maintaining Satisfactory Academic Progress toward their primary goal.  Students placed on probation have one (1) semester of financial aid probation.  At the end of the semester/session, if a student on probation does not maintain satisfactory academic progress, then he/she will get a financial aid dismissal.  If a student on probation does maintain satisfactory academic progress, then he/she will be removed from probation and be eligible for continued financial aid.
