 What is needed from ALL MPC Students interested in Financial Aid?

 What else do I need?

To know what additional forms you may need to complete your file, you will need to know if you are a Dependent or Independent student. 

If you answer "NO" to all of the following questions, you are considered Dependent. If you answer "YES" to any of the questions you are considered Independent, and may be asked to provide additional documentation.

  1. Were you born before January 1, 1988?
  2. Are you married?
  3. Are you a Veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces or currently serving on active duty for the purposes other than training?
  4. Do you have children or other dependents who receive more than half of their support from you?
  5. Are both parents decesed, were in foster care or were a dependent or ward of the court?
  6. Are you or were you an emancipated minor or ina legal guardianship as determined by a court?
  7. On or after July 1, 2010, did your high school or school district homeless liaison determine you were an unaccompanied youth who was homeless?
  8. On or after July 1, 2010, did the director of an emergency shelter or transitional housing program funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development determine you were an unaccompanied youth who was homeless?
  9. On or after July 1, 2010, did the director of a runaway or homeless youth basic center or transitional living program determine that you were an unaccompanied youth who was homeless or were self-supporting and at the risk of being homeless?
