NAME:
Matsui Foundation Scholarship
SCHOLARSHIP OBJECTIVE:
To provide financial aid to eligible students to obtain a four-year college degree. The degree must be in a field that would allow the student to promote economic development and improvements for the benefit of Monterey County upon graduation from a four year college.
SCHOLARSHIP AMOUNT:
$10,000 for each year, maximum $20,000 per student for junior and senior year at a four-year university.
SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS:
-Minimum five years of residency in Monterey County prior to making application.
-Must have completed lower division course of study and transferring as a junior to a four year university/college with a 3.00 GPA or better.
APPLICATION:
-Complete a MPC Master Scholarship Application for 2008-2009.
-Submit official copy of your lower division transcript.
-Submit a written essay, not to exceed 250 words, on the subject: “The Importance of the Matsui Foundation Scholarship for Me”
-Submit copy of student’s parents’ 2007 U.S. Tax Return (if Dependent) or copy of student’s and/or spouse’s 2007 U.S. Tax Return (if Independent).

April 15, 2008.
