Maximum Time Frame & Unit Exclusion
Maximum Time Frame:
-
Students have 150% of the units in a program of study (major), as described in the MPC College Catalog, to complete their courses.
-
150% may not exceed 90 units, except those programs in the MPC College Catalog that are more than 60 units (i.e. Nursing).
-
Transfer units that are evaluated and accepted by MPC are counted in the maximum number of units as both completed and attempted (p.49 Dec 2010 Federal presentation).
-
All courses, both transfer and taken at MPC, are included when computing the 150% of units attempted, including courses at MPC in which a grade of F, W, NP/NC, and I were received.
-
Grades of IP and RD are counted in units attempted if a final grade is not posted.
-
Repeated course units which have been removed due to Academic Renewal (2010 Federal Financial Aid Handbook p.1-16 ) are included in the 150% as units completed and attempted.
Unit Exclusion From 150%
-
A maximum of 30 units of 300-level course work will be excluded from a student’s Maximum Time- Frame.
-
English as A Second Language 300-level course work (ENSL) is excluded from the 300-level course work requirement. (NOTE: Students taking classes in ENSL must be enrolled in an eligible major and progressing toward their primary educational goal.)
