Arianna Huffington, creator of the highly regarded “Huffington Post” Web site and astute observer of the U.S. political scene, will speak at 7pm September 8 in the Steinbeck Forum of the Monterey Conference Center.
Ms. Huffington’s talk, “Ethical Dilemmas on the Campaign Trail”, will be the second in the Peggy Downes Baskin Series on Ethics, “Facing Up: Ethical Dilemmas of the 21st Century,” presented by the Monterey Peninsula College Foundation.
The series brings distinguished speakers to the Monterey Peninsula to address critical ethical concerns in journalism, politics, medical care, biotechnology, immigration, finance, the environment and academia.
Arianna Huffington is the author of 11 books, most recently “Right is Wrong: How the Lunatic Fringe Hijacked America, Shredded the Constitution, and Made Us All Less Safe.” In 2003, Ms. Huffington ran for governor of California during the recall election that brought Arnold Schwarzenegger to Sacramento.
