About the Foundation
The Monterey Peninsula College Foundation endeavors to support the academic excellence of Monterey Peninsula College faculty and students through grants, fundraising and public campaigns promoting rigorous study and independent thinking. The foundation raises its money through the generous support of the community and works to build strong, sustainable relationships with donors and residents to maintain the viability of the college and the students it serves.
The work of the Foundation is overseen by a volunteer board of directors, who represent the best interests of the college. The Foundation is qualified to receive gifts or bequests of financial assets, real estate, art, and other donations that are used to invest in the future of the college. The foundation encourages lifelong learning and believes education is the means by which people realize their potential. Founded in 1994 as a tax-exempt foundation, it is independent from the college and the money it raises does not replace public tax dollars.
