Dear EOPS student: May 6, 2010
As the semester draws to a close, I wanted to encourage EOPS students to stop by our office to complete and update important information that will make registration and financial aid more efficient for both the Summer 2010 and Fall 2010 semesters. I also wanted to alert continuing EOPS students to the following important dates:
· BOGFW Fee Waiver Application for 2010/2011: The BOG form should be completed now and submitted to Student Financial Services. It is important to note that once the BOGW is completed, it is good for the entire academic year.
· FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid): The FAFSA for 2010/2011 is available on-line at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ .
· May 12, 2010: Priority Registration begins for Summer 2010. EOPS students are able to utilize WebReg at http://www.mpc.edu/ to register for Summer 2010 classes.
· May 31, 2010: 2010 Summer Semester Attendance Form is due in Student Financial Services Office in order to be considered for any available Summer 2010 financial aid funds. The form is available online at the Student Financial Services “Financial Aid” website under 2009-2010 Financial Aid Forms.
· June 20, 2010: EOPS Intake and Mutually Responsibility Contract for 2010/2011 should be completed by continuing EOPS students enrolled in Summer 2010 courses. Students receiving books and services through other resources still need to complete and update their EOPS file in order to receive EOPS and CARE Counseling services.
· EOPS will be open with limited services throughout the summer. A schedule of dates when counselors are available for drop-in advising during the summer will be posted outside the EOPS office and on the EOPS website.
· May 19, 2012: Priority Registration begins for Fall 2010. EOPS students are able to utilize Web Registration to register for Fall 2010 classes. Classes will fill fast!
Finally, I also wanted to remind all EOPS students that have not yet met with an EOPS Counselor at least three times during the current semester to do so in order to avoid being placed on EOPS Probation. EOPS Probation will limit the amount services a student may receive. More importantly, these counseling contacts will ensure that students receive the maximum program benefits and services, as well as obtain information regarding important dates and deadlines. Please feel free to contact the office at 646-4247 if you have any questions or comments.
At your service,
The EOPS Staff
