English & Math Assessment
|
This Assessment is for students that wish to take English and Math classes or classes that have English and Math prerequisites.
The English Assessment (CTEP) is divided into two parts-a reading comprehension assessment and a written essay. A topic will be provided for the essay. Placement into writing classes will be based on the written essay. The reading comprehension is necessary for entry into transferable English courses and MPC graduation.
For math classes starting in FALL 2009, you will choose between four Math Assessments, each designed for placement into different levels of math. Review the “Which Math Should I Take?” Math Practice Assessments along with filling out the Math Skills Assessment Request Form. Bring the completed form with you on the day of the Assessment.
