Exemption from Math Informed Decision

Students may be exempt from taking the self-assessment in mathematics if they meet one of the exemption criteria listed below:

  • Completed a high school mathematics course with a grade of "C" or better.  It is recommended that this course be taken within the last two years.
  • Completed the College Board Advanced Placement Mathematics Test (AB or BC) with a score of 3, 4, or 5.
  • Received math credit through completion of the CLEP (35 percentile)
  • Completed a college course in math.

NOTE:

  • High school and/or college transcripts or test score reports are used as documents that show you have met the requirements listed above. 
  • Submit these documents together with a completed Prerequisite Verification Form, to the Counseling Department, located in the Student Services Building. 
  • Prerequisite Verification Forms can be found in the Schedule of Classes, at the Counseling Department, or on this website.
