Math Informed Decision Assessment Schedule

Math Informed Decision Assessment (MIDA) is a process of self-placement in which you are given the following information to help you select the appropriate math course:

  • Course expectations, sample math problems and answers 
  • Questions to help you estimate your current level of math skills
  • Questions to help you assess your study skills and time available to study math

Please note: The MIDA test only places students up to Beginning Algebra.  If you wish to take a higher level of math, you would need to submit documentation that shows that you have completed the necessary prerequisite for the math course in which you wish to enroll.

ASSESSMENT SESSION: Stop by HU 207, the Assessment Center, or call 831-646-4027 to make an appointment for testing.

  *Please note:

  • Test begins promptly at indicated time.
  • No late admittance.
  • Bring picture identification. 
  • Bring Student Identification Number.

ASSESSMENT SCHEDULE

Mathematics assessment is handled on an individual basis.  It is recommended that you contact the Assessment Center to arranged for the Informed Mathematics Decision assessment if you have not completed a beginning algebra or high course in high school or college.

Telephone the  Assessment Center (831-646-4027) to make an appointment for math assessment.

If you have completed a course in beginning algebra or higher with a grade of “C” or better, provide the Assessment Center with a copy of your transcript before or at the time you attend an Orientation/Advisement session.
