Testing Accommodations
The Supportive Services & Instruction Testing Center at MPC provides a distraction-reduced environment for students with disabilities to take their tests. Most of our students receive time-and-a-half or double-time on a test. Having the Testing Center insures that we can meet our students' testing accommodations needs.
In addition to class tests, we also facilitate campus placement tests for students with disabilities in our Testing Center throughout the year, including:
- ABT - Ability to Benefit Test (College Readiness)
- MPT - Math Placement Test
- EPT - English Placement Test
- Math & English challenge tests
The Testing Center coordinates accommodations for students with disabilities across campus. Services available include:
- Note takers
- Digital recorders for notetaking
- FM hearing devices
- Spell checkers
- Calculators
- Ergonomic accommodations - accessible furniture, such as chairs and tables for students with physical issues
- Scribes
- Readers for tests
- Accommdations for the deaf/hard of hearing
- ASL (American Sign Language) interpreters
- RTC (Real-Time Captioning)
