Dear Prospective Student:

We are pleased that you are interested in attending Monterey Peninsula College.  The presence of international students on our campus and in our community increases our understanding of, and respect for, the many cultures of the world.  At the same time, we are confident that students from other countries gain a deeper understanding of American life by living and studying with us.
MPC further recognizes the importance of preparing students to take their place in an increasingly global community. 

MPC is a California public community college offering the first two years of university study for the bachelor’s degree.  A number of certificate and two-year programs are also offered.

Monterey Peninsula College offers some very important advantages for students:

  • A fully-accredited community college located on the beautiful Monterey Peninsula
  • Excellent faculty and facilities
  • Strong international student support services
  • Rolling admissions for fall, spring, and summer
  • Airport pick-up and host family services
  • Moderate costs:  approximately $ 14,300 per academic year
  • Tuition $ 4,600 ($2,300 per semester)
  • Living expenses $ 8,600 per academic year
  • Health Insurance, books, materials approximately $1800
  • Priority consideration for transfer admission to all California State University (CSU) and University of California (UC) campuses.
  • For ‘conditional’ admission to MPC, with preparatory Intensive ESL study at the Monterey Institute of International Studies (MIIS) prior to enrollment at MPC, costs are approximately $4,500.00 (tuition $ 3,000; Fees $ 50.00; Books and supplies $ 75.00; living expenses $ 1,800.00) for each eight week session.  Visit MIIS’ website for further information at www.miis.edu/lang-ep-iesl-about.html
