This course covers American Indian, African American, Asian American, Latina, European American and immigrant women heroines and "ordinary" women who have shaped United States history and culture.

This course covers American Indian, African American, Asian American, Latina, European American and immigrant women heroines and "ordinary" women who have shaped United States history and culture.
Optional initial class meeting: Saturday, January 30, 11-noon, LTC 203/204. Students who cannot attend the optional introductory meeting MUST email smawhirter@mpc.edu with a preferred email address for the course. This course is offered through the Internet. Students must have access to a computer and be familiar with using the Internet. Students taking this class should obtain their library cards prior to the initial orientation meeting for logging in and accessing the online resources. WOMN/PHIL/HUMA 40: Introduction to Feminist Theory |
Encourages students to reflect on historical and present-day images of women and men through readings in philosophy, psychology, and history by both male and famale authors. Engages students in critical analysis of the readings and the changes that feminist theory has undergone, as well as its relationship to other theories.
