Banned Books Read Out (and Raffle)

We hope you’ll join us for a celebration of reading and freedom!

On Thursday, September 26, join us for the annual  BANNED BOOKS READ-OUT from 1:00 – 3:00 PM in the Sam Karas Room of the LTC (Campus Library). MPC students, faculty, staff and others will read from and discuss books that have been banned or challenged at libraries and in school systems in the United States. All who attend are welcome to read!

From Monday, September 23 through Thursday, September 26, the BANNED BOOKS RAFFLE returns to the Caroline Page Garden outside the LTC from 10 am - 2 pm. Copies of books that have been banned or challenged are raffled at a cost of $.50 per ticket, or 3 for $1.00. (Proceeds are used to buy books for the next year's raffle!)

These annual Creative Writing Club Events celebrate the right to read. Stop by our booth in the Caroline Page garden anytime this week during raffle hours and find out why some of your favorite books might have been banned from libraries or schools in the United States!
