A hearty "Congratulations" goes out to 3 MPC leaders on campus who completed the Association of California Community College Administrators (ACCCA) Admin 201: Transformational Leadership Program at Sierra College this summer! Acceptance to this new advanced level professional development course was highly competitive, with only 38 participants being accepted in this inaugural session. MPC was well represented in this select cohort by Michael Midkiff (Director of Information Systems), LaKisha Bradley (Director of Student Success and Equity) and Nicole Dunne (Director of Admissions).
The Admin 201 program is designed for California Community College managers and administrators, the curriculum addresses the concept of strong and effective leadership from both a theoretical and a practical perspective. Expert faculty guide the course utilizing a case-study approach that includes real-world examples of how positive transformational change takes place within an institution, and then clearly defines the role of the leader in creating that change.
MPC supports active participation in rigorous professional development programs like Admin 201, and looks forward to the new ideas and initiatives these leaders will bring to campus as a result of this valuable educational experience.
