Deanna Ross began her dance training at age 7 at The Redwood Empire Ballet with Antonio Mendes, attending summer programs at the San Francisco Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, and Milwaukee Ballet schools and the Academy of Ballet in San Francisco. She was among the first class of scholarship trainees at the Harid Conservatory in Boca Raton, Florida, and completed high school at the North Carolina School of the Arts. Her adult studies have included workshops with the London Contemporary Dance School, choreographers Bill T. Jones and Mark Morris, and many excursions to explore classes in New York City.

Deanna has performed extensively with dance companies in the Bay Area and is a frequent choreographer for local productions, collaborating with Ensemble Monterey Chamber Orchestra and the theater departments at York School, Cabrillo College, Pacific Grove Middle School and MPC. Deanna also teaches dance for seniors at Hidden Valley Arts Institute, is a member of the indie folk-pop band The Jinxes, and is at work on her first novel.
