Lisa is from Southern California, where she received excellent training in speaking and teaching French at Chaffey Community College, California State University, Fullerton (MA) and the University of California, Irvine (post-grad).  As a non-native French speaker, she knows and understands what it is like to learn a second language, and her own positive experiences as a student of French inform her teaching methodology today.

In the classroom, she encourages students to use their imagination and to have fun, using games and introducing French poetry, music and art so students can create their own meaning(s) with the French language.

Lisa also holds a teaching certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from the University of California, Riverside, and spent a year teaching English grammar, pronunciation, conversation and phonetics at the Université de Paris XIII in Villetaneuse.  Since 2016, she has also been teaching English as a Second Language at MPC.

Regular travel to France and other francophone countries for the past 30 years enables Lisa to remain current and imaginative herself in the language and culture.  When not teaching, she spends summers and winters in the south of France.
