On April 27, 2018, Monterey Peninsula College and the Monterey Peninsula College Foundation presented the 12th Annual President’s Address to the Community, featuring Dr. Walter Tribley, in a “State of the College” address highlighting the college’s successes and future plans.
The program included the presentation of the President’s Award to two incredibly influential local leaders who have contributed significantly to the community, and who have helped fulfill the college’s mission of providing educational opportunities to everyone we serve. This year's honorees were Mel and Regina Mason.
Both Mel and Regina are alumni of MPC and distinguished members of our Lobo Hall of Fame. As two of the of the most highly respected human and civil rights advocates in our community, they have impacted countless lives through their dedication to social justice and cross-cultural education. Among their significant achievements in serving local youth and their families, Mel and Regina have empowered many young people to pursue a college education at MPC.
Faculty, staff, local leaders and generous community members enjoyed the full program and celebrated with the Masons at this special event. Please enjoy a few photos from the day in our photo album, below.
