This course introduces philosophical ideas and methods concern- ing knowledge, reality, and values. Expected topics will include the sources and limits of knowledge, and the nature of reality. PHIL 6 INTRODUCTION TO LOGIC

This course introduces principles of valid reasoning with emphasis on deductive logic. The course includes a study of formal techniques of sentential logic and a treatment of inductive reasoning, language, and fallacies.

PHIL 40 INTRODUCTION TO FEMINIST THEORY

This course encourages students to reflect on historical and pres- ent day images of women and men through readings in philosophy, psychology, and history by both male and female authors. It engages students in critical analysis of the readings and the changes that the feminist theory has undergone, as well as its relationship to other theories.
