Qigong (ACFI 20-05)
Qigong is based on the ancient practice of body-mind exercise that integrates body, breath, and mind adjustments, this course offers a series of slow, gentle movements at a beginning level to promote a deeper relationship to the body that increases health, strength, and flexibility if practiced regularly. Class includes exercises for relaxation, deep breathing, and centering.

About the instructor: Jim Scott-Behrends began his study of the Internal Arts over thirty-seven years ago. In Yang style Tai Chi Chuan, Master Jim’s main teacher was Master Kai-Ying Tung, a third generation Master who was instrumental in bringing Tai Chi to America. Master Tung’s grandfather was the top disciple of Yang Chen-Fu, who was the grandson of the founder of Yang style. As a result of his experiences and the support of his family, friends, and students, Jim has dedicated his life to sharing the great gifts of the Internal Arts Practice. He is known in the area as an instructor of Tai Chi at Valley Heights Retirement Home, Monterey Peninsula College, Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula, and La Selva Beach Community Center Park among many others.Click Here to Register
Swimming For Fitness (AFCI 20-02)
This class is an opportunity to improve fitness through lap swimming using various strokes and techniques.
Instructor: Jocelyne Trejo
Meetings: Monday-Friday, 15 meetings,12:00pm - 1:30pm, January 2, 2020 - January 23, 2020 (no class meeting January 20, 2020).

About the instructor: Jocelyne Trejo is a USA swim coach located in Monterey Bay, California. She has coached at a variety of different levels from beginning swim lessons to High School, and competitive teams. Jocelyne is passionate about training and educating swimmers to swim more efficiently and promote conditioning. She received her Bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in Spanish Literature from California State University of Monterey Bay.
