Major: Theatre Arts and Psychology
My name is Sheannah Guillemette and I am an international student from Canada. I am majoring in Theatre and Psychology and I hope to get into the television industry in the near future. This is my second year as a Lobo Ambassador, and I am excited to be part of such a wonderful program and team. College is not always the easiest thing. At first it can be daunting, no matter what level one may be at. I came to MPC having gone to another college before, earning a certificate in the performing arts, but I never quite connected to my school and I was not confident in aspects of my academic skills and life in general. However, being a part of the ARC program and connecting with teachers, staff, and faculty has helped me immensely. Being an Ambassador showed me even more of what MPC has to offer and has allowed me to grow in ways I never dreamed of. Now I have a 4.0 GPA, gained much more confidence, and I have been shown that when one works hard, the rewards are truly remarkable. Being an Ambassador allows me to help current and prospective students find the tools they need to thrive. When I needed help in school, people at MPC were there for me, and I want to pay that kindness forward by helping students succeed.
Major: Political Science
My name is Ashley Tapia. I have been at MPC for two years and am majoring in Political Science. I hope to transfer soon to the University of California, Davis. Upon completing my undergraduate studies, I would like to attain a Master’s in Education Administration; my career goal is to influence educational policy. As a Lobo Ambassador, I am most excited for the opportunity to work with high school students looking to join our campus. Students at that stage often need the most assistance, and I am eager to provide them with the tools to ensure their success at MPC.
Major: Psychology and Anthropology
As a new Lobo Ambassador, I'm honored and excited to serve as a representative and information advocate of Monterey Peninsula College. While pursuing a degree in psychology and anthropology, I am otherwise involved in campus activities such as the ASMPC Director of Student Organizations and through the newly created Sociology Club. Serving as a Lobo Ambassador allows me to help spread information and awareness about MPC including the many advantages offered by the institution that students may not be aware of. Personally, I have been given so much through the internal and state financial guidance programs, academic and extracurricular organizations, an exceptionally present and receptive administration, and the wide array of top quality curriculum choices being taught by experienced and accommodating professors. I am excited to have the chance to put back in as much good as I can by way of the various campus interactions I am able to be a part of.
