The California State University system includes 23 campuses across the state. These multipurpose institutions serve more than 450,000 students annually and offer both undergraduate and graduate instruction in a variety of professional and occupational fields as well as broad liberal education. Admission priority is given to students who have successfully completed their first two years at a California Community College campus.
CSUs prepare graduates for the workforce. Many CSU students are older and/or employed and attend part-time, especially at the graduate level.

Impacted Campus/Impacted Program
Impacted major or campus means that the number of applications received from fully qualified applicants during the initial filing period exceeds the number of available spaces and will require supplementary admission criteria (most often a higher GPA). Some campuses are impacted for all majors--Fullerton, San Diego and San Jose and San Luis Obispo. Some majors are impacted at all or most campuses--Nursing (ALL CSUs), Business, Communication, Graphic Design, Psychology and Social Work are impacted at many of the campuses and a student would do well do find an alternative major at that particular campus. See list at website. Always check with the individual campus for complete and current information.
