Biography
My name is André Adam, and I am currently a pastry chef instructor in the hospitality program at Monterey Peninsula College (MPC). I have been a pastry chef for over 40 years, beginning as an apprentice at age 16 in Colmar, France. I worked at the renowned 3-star Michelin restaurant Auberge de L’Ill and the Dolder Grand Hotel in Switzerland. After earning my Maitre pâtissier (Master pastry chef) certification, I moved to California and became the head chef at Pâtisserie Bechler in Pacific Grove, where I worked for 12 years. I joined MPC in 2001 and have been teaching there since.
I live on the Monterey Peninsula with my wife Teri, who inspires me daily. We’ve been married for 28 years and have two children, Jessica and Jean-Luc. Outside of baking, I enjoy gardening, woodworking, and riding my motorcycle.
