The Library Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month & HSI Week!
With over 45% of our Students and 20% of our Faculty/Staff identifying as Hispanic or Latina/o/x, we honor the cultures, histories, and voices that make our campus vibrant. The Library's Latinx Resource Guide and Lowriders Exhibit are designed to foster cultural understanding and affirm the identities and contributions of our students, faculty, and staff.
Hispanic Heritage Resource Guide
In the spirit of transforming Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI), Monterey Peninsula College and California State University Monterey Bay have collaborated to celebrate HSI-week and National Hispanic Heritage Month, September 15 through October 15, 2025, by showcasing literature and online resources about the experiences of Hispanic and Latino/a/x groups. HSI Week is September 7 through the 13, 2025.
La Cultura Lowrider: Community, Tradition, and Expression
The Library will be displaying the exhibit: La Cultura Lowrider: Community, Tradition, and Expression, highlighting the artistry, history, and cultural impact of lowrider culture. Featuring
stories, images, and community perspectives, the exhibit explores how lowriding has
served as a form of tradition, pride, and creative expression across generations.
