Phlebotomy Technician Training Program

The Phlebotomy Technician Training program is an accelerated training course designed to combine classroom instruction with hands-on training in a medical laboratory to help you develop the highly technical skill of blood withdrawal. 

What is included in the program:

• 84 hours of instruction
• 5 hours of CPR training
• Externship opportunity

Upon successful completion of the classroom training, students will take the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) exam and be required to pass a drug and background screen prior to being placed in the externship portion of the program.Externship information:

• Students must complete a 40 hour externship.
• Externships are scheduled for one week, Monday-Friday (no nights or weekends).
• Students will need to be available from 5 a.m. - 6 p.m. for that week only (specific schedule timeframe is determined by each externship site).

Once a student has successfully completed all program requirements, they are eligible to apply for the State of California CPT-1 License.

• Must be 18 years or older;
• Students must have a high school diploma or a GED (to be provided at second class meeting);
• Must attend an informational session prior to registration;
• Must place a $200 dollar deposit at the time of registration

4. Physical w/Immunizations (cost depends on student's medical insurance)

5. CPR training ($65.00)

6. Drug and background screening ($82.00)

7. National examination fee ($125.00)

8. CPT-1 State of California application licensing fee ($100.00)

Reflecting on my recent journey through the phlebotomy technician training program, I can honestly say it was an incredible experience from start to finish. Refund & Credit Policy:

The MPC Continuing and Professional Education program reserves the right to cancel a class due to low enrollment. Students in classes that are cancelled by Continuing and Professional Education will be offered a full refund or a credit to their registration account.

Refund Policy for Professional Training/Healthcare Training Classes:

Refund requests will be honored if they are received at least 14 business days prior to the beginning of the class. There is a 10% service fee, subject to a $5 minimum. Students who withdraw after the first class meeting are no longer eligible for a refund, however students may request a credit that may be applied to a future class offering. *Please note, refunds and credits are not granted if a student has failed or was dropped from a training program for failure to meet program requirements.
